Sports injuries

Sports injuries usually occur as a result of accidents or overuse while taking part in recreational or professional sporting activity. Correct diagnosis and prompt treatment, together with a comprehensive rehabilitation programme, allows for an early return to sporting activity and helps prevent further injury.

Osteopathic treatment can assist in reducing the pain and inflammation associated with an injury by using a variety of treatment models including mobilisation and stretching of muscles and connective tissues, and manipulation of joints. This helps to reduce muscle spasm and increase mobility, creating a healthier state in which damaged tissues can heal.
